Connectivity, Mobility, and Resilience key themes in new "CMR Index" for places and spaces - Coming 2018

VENTURE SMARTER WILL PREVIEW THE CMR INDEX AT THE SMART REGIONS CONFERENCE ON OCTOBER 25TH
Venture Smarter announced today a collaboration with industry leaders across sectors to launch the CMR Index to help map smart city success stories and opportunity areas focused on three core themes: connectivity, mobility, and resilience. Expected to launch in early 2018, the CMR Index will score and compare spaces and places, and is set to include support resources and guides for low scoring cities, states, and regions.
Venture Smarter is dedicated to building smart and connected communities. In a continued effort to democratize smart city planning efforts, Venture Smarter authored smart city technology standards used by the IEEE Standards Association as well as a planning framework for governments and industry leaders to match.

The index will help compare and guide municipal and industry efforts to support best-practices solutions. CMR ratings will be paired with a success score or planning guide to address alert areas. The index will be an effective tool for mapping and comparing:
The CMR Index will help guide impact and infrastructure investments, government and industry strategies, and academic research efforts. The collaborative effort will be supported by Regional Smart Cities Initiatives which are led by Rhonda Binda, VP of Policy at Venture Smarter. Venture Smarter intends to roll out the index with a cohort of government, industry, and academic partners. Leadership has hinted at early partnerships with Cisco, Department of Homeland Security, several research institutions including the University of Cincinnati, and associations such as IEEE Smart Cities.
Venture Smarter will preview the CMR Index during the Smart Regions Conference on October 25th at BB&T Arena. Speakers include Anil Menon (Cisco Global President, Smart+ Connected,) Mark Polincinsky (CEO, Ohio Kentucky Indiana Council of Governments,) and Karen Jackson (Secretary of Technology, Commonwealth of Virginia.) Special guests include Hardik Bhatt (Global Lead, Amazon Smart Cities,) Bob Bennett (CIO, Kansas City MO,) and dozens of other government, industry, and academic leaders. Program features include speakers, presentations, awards, IoT showcases, and even professional drone racing to highlight the latest in emerging tech. There will even be a Hyperloop Pod on display and awards for the day will be 3D printed in real time. This is all a Venture Smarter effort to create a collaborative and interactive experience for partners and leaders in the smart cities and IoT space.
