Venture Smarter lends expertise for latest Y2Y Youth Tech event

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Smart city solutions provider Venture Smarter will join

the Youth2Youth Community at the World Bank for Y2Y’s next YOUth Tech event at the World Bank Headquarters on Thursday, June 22. The Youth Tech panel discussion series explores the power of innovation and disruptive technologies to create positive change. Smart cities rely upon technology solutions to make informed planning decisions and maintain a high quality of life.

With nearly 75 percent of the world’s population projected to live in urban areas by 2050, planners and leaders are looking to smart city solutions for answers to the challenges future growth poses.

“As the world’s population continues to grow, we need to think about how we’re going to accommodate that growth while maintaining quality of life,” says Busayo Odunlami, COO of smart city solutions provider Venture Smarter. “These are problems that my generation and the ones that come after us will need to solve. But we can’t wait to have these conversations - the time is now.”

More than half of global population’s growth from between now and 2050 is projected to take place in the developing world, where children under 15 account for nearly half percent of the population today.

The panel, which Odunlami will lead, will feature executives from several tech companies, such as WEL Enterprise, Lisnr, and Wyzzer. The panel will take place between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. in the headquarters library at the World Bank (MC Building), 1818 H St. NW, Washington, D.C.
