Key West Charter School seeking Facilities Master Plan

Sigsbee Charter School (SCS) is requesting statements of qualifications from qualified firms for the selection and acquisition of professional services of Architects, Planners and Engineers required for the development of a Facilities Master Plan (FMP) for facilities located at 939 Felton Road, Key West, FL in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner and in compliance with Florida laws, rules and codes.

Professional services will consist primarily of facility assessment, educational programming and adequacy assessment, future use analysis, site evaluation and development of a strategic plan for implementation.

Based on the FMP conclusions, SCS will develop a long term capital improvement plan. Capital expenditures may include renovation or replacement of the office, cafegymatorium and media center, adding kitchen facilities and a gymnasium. Outdoor facilities including playgrounds, playing fields, parking, traffic flow, pedestrian flow, safety and security shall be integral to the FMP.

Selected firms will be required to comply with State Requirements for Educational Facilities, the Florida Building Code, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Education Facilities Specifications requirements and all other applicable codes.

Sigsbee Charter School was founded in 2010 as a public charter school. Organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, SCS is governed by an independent Board of Directors and serves approximately 500 students in grades K-8. The majority of students at SCS have military affiliation.
