The Colorado Smart Cities Alliance will partner with Arrow Electronics Inc. to create the new Colorado Open Lab – a large-scale showcase and innovation lab dedicated to fast-track development of Smart Cities and Smart Regions throughout the state of Colorado.

The Colorado Smart Cities Alliance serves as a co-development laboratory for design, testing, deployment and scaling of cross-jurisdictional infrastructure solutions to problems not currently addressed by market offerings.

Arrow Electronics and the nonprofit organization Close the Gap are collaborating to turn used cargo containers into fully equipped digital classrooms and health clinics that can be deployed to remote areas of Africa. The first "DigiTruck" classroom was deployed to the Tuleeni Orphanage in Tanzania where it's currently providing some 80 orphans with access to a classroom full of refurbished laptops, tablets and other IT equipment.
